Christmas 2013- A rush to the finish!

This Christmas season really came too quickly. But as I told you last week, I gave myself  2 days to get all the Christmas decorations done. My family arrived on Tuesday and as of last Tuesday, there was no holiday décor, Christmas shopping or menu planning done! Well, I can't believe that it is one week later, Christmas Day is over, the shopping got done ( thank you, Amazon!) and the menus were completed and food was purchased!  So how did my decorating turn out!  Not as much as last year, but festive nonetheless.

snow dusted wreath hung on mirror over dining room buffet.

Bronze ferns and pearl branches just added into the urn  of hydrangeas

my favorite jeweled eggs placed in a gilded nest on top of the Cinderella clock.

embellished the sconces.

Velvet fruit and lace leaves placed on the coffee table.

frosted cabbages and roses on the mantle.

Finally got the tree done!

French Santas and frosted pods in samovars in kitchen.

fresh flowers for the breakfast buffet.

Breakfast is breakfast

Breakfast table is set!

Simple iced branches and greens on old frames on the mantle.

More pearl branches added to the foyer vase.

Put out the Santas!

A few trinkets placed  throughout the house-

Santa has come- piles of toys and gifts for all the grandchildren are placed throughout.

I actually got it done-  time for a good night's sleep!

Merry Christmas!!!!!

  4. Absolutely stunning!! You did a phenomenal job in such a short period of time. Although Christmas was yesterday, I am looking forward to next year as we'll be settled and I will purchase new decor for our new house. I am in love with your painting above your fireplace. What kind of painting would you describe that as? I'd like to search for something similar online. Thank you!
